Trattoria 51 is undisputably one of Liverpool’s finest Italian restaurants. Trattoria 51 is the brainchild of highly-regarded Puglia-born restaurateur AttilioSergi, who has crafted an affordable menu teeming with authenticity. Located on Old Hall Street in the city’s commercial district, the restaurant is the perfect spot for a romantic evening out or a family gathering, a high-ceilinged space with wood flooring, charming black and white photographs adorning the walls and massive curved windows. The independent restaurant, which has a counterpart in Stockport, is set across two floors and serves hearty meat, fish and vegetarian classics, each providing a moreish taste of Italy. The pizzas prove especially popular, stone baked as they are to crisp perfection, and there’s a variety of gluten-free options too. Pastas, for their part, include such staples as penne pollopiccante and Gnocchi Sorrentina, while a range of salads – Caesar, Caprese, Greca, Nizzarda – provide refreshing carb-free alternatives.

What a find!!. We booked a table for 2 on a Saturday evening and were immediately impressed by the welcome from the staff as soon as we walked in. Our waiter went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and was very professional. The atmosphere and ambience of the place was very nice and not too noisy. The food was first class, as was the cost of the meal. I'm sure this restaurant will do very well. Highly recommended.
